few of my favorites

Have you ever had the question asked: "What is your favorite garment?" If you ask me, I honestly don't know. It's like asking my parents.. who is your favorite daughter? I mean I can't choose.. I use different garments for different outfits. When it comes to making decisions I either don't know or know exactly what to do. With picking out what clothing to buy I make very strict and precise decisions. There are a few steps I will run through my mind when shopping:

  1. "Okay, what do I need?"
  2. I pick out a city where to shop best for what I need.
  3. "Am I on a budget? Yes. duh, I always am." I pick out a few shops I'm allowed to go in. Which for me usually are: River Island, Zara and H&M.
  4. When entering a shop I avoid going through every single rack.
  5. "It's game time.." This is my favorite part. I get excited waiting to scan through the entire shop. Which I have a strategy for. The best way to scan correctly is to either start on the left and end on the other side. Look at items laid out in the middle of the store at the same time. Only get closer to an item when it really catches your eye.
  6. Having in mind: "Quality over quantity, quality over quantity, quality.."
  7. "No. I don't need this dress, I was looking for shoes.." Avoid looking too much at items you don't need.
  8. And when I'm done scanning, I make a quick mental note and leave the shop. When I'm not sure about an item or the entire shop, I first go to a different shop and then come back. This way I can order things in my head and avoid tunnel vision.
  9. When deciding which item to buy, I need to really really like it before I purchase it. When there's too much doubt it's a no-go.

- I do have a few favorites which I'm about to show you.

The biker boots I got from my mother-in-law for Christmas which I wear on a daily basis. I have never owned tough biker boots like these, so I'm excited about these ones. Plus they're real leather. There's nothing more bad than buying low quality shoes. Investing in shoes is a must. Shoes are expensive, they just are. My first sequin skirt I also got for Christmas.. too bad the material is so fragile.. I heard a few beads falling the other day.

I haven't had a new bag (which I can use on a daily basis) for a few years and I got my eye on this bucket bag which I also got for Christmas. I'm such a lucky girl ain't I? Luxurious mask, shampoo and conditioner I actually got from the lovely Elly Zutphen, co-founder of Modellist-ID. Which I write my her style posts for every two weeks!

The best heels I've ever bought are my grey Zara one's. Never would I have thought that a heel shorter than 5 inch was going to make me look good. Oh boy, was I wrong! Plus comfort over uncomfortable all the way. The last time I wore Converse was when I was fifteen. Really ugly grey with soft pink ones. Eek! Searched high and low for these off-white ones and would never trade them for any other sneaker.. unless they are.. the white Isabel marant ones.. you know what I mean.

See ya later alligator! Enjoy your weekend while it lasts. Don't forget to keep an eye on 'This Week's Reader Spotlight' on my Facebook page.. maybe it's you!
